Obama’s Approval Rating Hits Low… Again

The Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday is finally catching up with other polling agencies’ findings: President Barack Obama’s approval rating is in the low 40s on any given day and when compared with an unknown Republican candidate in a hypothetical match-up, Obama loses.

So why is it that Quinnipiac has taken so long to report a poll showing President Obama’s approval rating at 44%? Rasmussen polled Obama at 44% months ago. There isn’t a particularly damaging issue that would influence such a “new low” result at the moment. In fact, other polls have President Obama’s approval on the uptick — well maybe just a point or two.

I think the real news is that even the liberal pollsters are acknowledging Obama’s low ratings. Whereas before they would single out Rasmussen for reporting on the facts, the facts have become so apparent to the general public that pollsters can no longer cover up Obama’s abysmal ratings without getting egg on their faces.

Note: Rasmussen has polled Obama consistently in the low-to-mid 40s for months and it seems his approval has flat-lined. If Rasmussen’s polls were bias, they would show a continued drop in the polls, congruent with other polls and would have broken 40% by now. The other agencies are now just getting around to reporting the “new lows,” which have been evident for months.
